The Black Chamber of Commerce of New York City ® was incorporated in New York State in August 2011. The NYCBCC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian organization dedicated to the economic empowerment of African American communities. In essence, the NYCBCC is a 501(c)3 corporation that is on the leading edge of educating and training Black communities on the need to participate vigorously in this great capitalistic society known as America. The NYCBCC reaches Black-owned businesses in New York City and New York State. There are 1.9 million Black-owned businesses in the United States. Black businesses account for over $1 trillion in expendable income each year according to the US Bureau of Census. The Black Chamber of Commerce of New York City® is dedicated to economically empowering and sustaining African American communities through entrepreneurship and capitalistic activity within the United States. To economically empower and sustain African American communities through entrepreneurship and capitalistic activity within New York City. The New York City Black Chamber of Commerce will provide support to small businesses to improve lines of communication for contracting and procurement opportunities. We will host events to improve opportunities for our members, as well as develop programs and events that will positively impact the community's development. We envision our organization to be a tool to promote stability among members. We hope to promote economic development and rebuild communities to support the vision and the mission of our members.

We assist, counsel, and advise small businesses of all types (small businesses, small disadvantaged business, women-owned small businesses, economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses, veteran owned small businesses, service disabled veteran owned small businesses, and small businesses located in historically underutilized business zones) on procedures for contracting with Treasury.
GOAL #1 To increase business development and growth via procurement, capital access and international trade.
Planned Activity #1 Secure partnerships with committed corporations and ensure compliance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act at federal, state and local governments and also with prime contractors.

Constraints: Old existing formats for outreach at corporate level. An atmosphere of noncompliance at the government level. Downsizing and a lack of attention by upper management.
Solutions: Create useable website directories for e-commerce and recruiting. Organize and host President Club receptions around the nation. Local market analysis to identify direct opportunities for affiliated chapters (follow up important). Also, to secure partnerships with federal agencies, US Chamber of Commerce and other organizations or institutions of mutual interest.

The U.S. Census Bureau today released new estimates on the characteristics of employer businesses. According to the 2020 Annual Business Survey (ABS), which covers reference year 2019, approximately 18.7% (1.1 million) of U.S. employer businesses were minority-owned, veteran-owned businesses that made up about 5.7% (331,151) of all businesses. About 20.9% (1.2 million) of businesses were owned by women.
